Since our community's earliest days, nonprofits and community groups have been essential partners in building a stronger Winston-Salem. We offer grantmaking programs to support projects that enhance the lives of all our residents. Please note that we only invest in organizations that are serving Forsyth County, North Carolina.  The Foundation values and appreciates the important work local nonprofits are leading, and we look forward to partnering with you.

Community Grants

The Foundation makes Community Grants to a wide variety of charitable organizations serving greater Forsyth County, in areas including community development, the arts, health, education, human services, and beyond.

Strategic Initiative Grants

The Foundation’s three Strategic Initiatives—the Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI), The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem, and Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA)—are led by community volunteers and work to amply collective impact for Black communities, women and girls, and youth in Forsyth County.
