Foundation Announces September Community Grants

The Winston-Salem Foundation announces 14 Community Grants totaling $188,060 that will touch the lives of many living in Forsyth County. This support is made possible by donors to the Foundation’s unrestricted funds, flexible funds, and the Next Century Fund.

  • a/perture cinema – $12,250 for a full-time donor and community relations manager for a third year
  • Action4Equity – $1,000 for volunteer training
  • Asset Building Coalition – $45,000 to build awareness of asset poverty
  • Community Care Center for Forsyth County – $21,500 for a full-time director of development for a third year
  • Eliza's Helping Hands – $6,300 for a grantwriter
  • Enclave Community – $500 for National Night Out
  • Forsyth Educator Partnership – $6,370 for the expansion of the program manager position for a third year
  • JCB Dance Academy – $500 to provide dance scholarships
  • Journee Bees Village – $500 to support outreach awareness event
  • Love Out Loud – $7,840 for the Pathways project for a third year
  • NC Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County – $4,000 to build social capital by expanding community gardens in Forsyth County
  • Piedmont Environmental Alliance – $16,800 for a part-time communications and engagement coordinator for a second year
  • Quality Truth Organization – $500 to support students within the MSEN program at Winston-Salem State University
  • Simon Green Atkins Community Development Corporation – $65,000 for staff to manage the expansion of the business incubator facility
