In mid-August we announced that Scott Wierman, who has served as our president since 1997, has been named president and chief executive officer of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry and will be leaving the Foundation later this fall.
In the past few weeks, Foundation staff have reflected upon Scott's 23-year tenure as president of this organization and how we might wish to honor him. Today we’re excited to announce the creation of the Scott and Lauren Wierman Community Vision Fund. Income from this unrestricted endowment will support the Foundation’s Community Grantmaking in perpetuity, supporting the Foundation's ability to respond to ever-evolving challenges and opportunities in Forsyth County as we move forward in time.
The community is invited to join us in paying tribute to Scott and his wife Lauren by supporting this lasting and meaningful connection between their family and our community.
For more information about what's ahead for both Scott and the Foundation, you can read our August 18 press release and listen to Scott's recent radio interview with WFDD.
A national search process to select the Foundation’s next president will follow, and more information will be shared with the community in the near future.
