Foundation Announces May Community Grants

The Winston-Salem Foundation announces 26 Community Grants totaling $762,161 that will touch the lives of many living in Forsyth County. This support is made possible by donors to the Foundation’s unrestricted funds, flexible funds, and the Next Century Fund.

• Authoring Action – $23,900 to contract with a design firm for branding and product refinement
• Boston Thurmond Community Engagement Roundtable – $15,500 to continue the Purpose Built Community project
• Carolina Music Ways – $5,500 for a strategic plan
• Children's Hope Alliance – $20,500 to provide training to staff and foster parents
• Children's Law Center of Central NC – $24,368 for a part-time development associate
• Crosby Scholars Community Partnership – $25,000 for a capital campaign consultant
• Crossnore School and Children's Home – $15,000 for leadership development training
• Enrichment Center – $25,000 for organizational restructuring and aligning to Medicaid Transformation
• Family Services – $25,000 for a project coordinator for the Family Justice Center Steering Committee
• Financial Pathways of the Piedmont – $25,000 for a resource development director
• Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County – $13,700 for a development manager for a third year
• HandsOn Northwest NC – $156,000 to support capacity building for nonprofits and increase volunteerism for two years
• Imprints Cares – $25,000 for a full-time director of business operations
• Liberty East Redevelopment – $15,000 for strategic planning
• Novant Health Foundation-Forsyth – $24,500 for a pediatric behavioral health therapist for a second year
• Piedmont Animal Welfare Alliance – $5,000 to support New Leash on Life
• Piedmont Business Capital – $25,000 to expand lending services and technical assistance into Forsyth County
• Piedmont Land Conservancy – $80,000 for the capital campaign
• Providence – $25,000 for a human resource officer
• ReadWS – $19,280 to provide racial equity training to staff, board, parents, and key stakeholders
• Salem Academy and College – $25,000 for strategic planning
• The Centers for Exceptional Children – $20,413 for part-time staff for the infant and toddler program for a third year
• Twin City Youth Soccer Association – $21,000 for a director of development for a second year
• UNC School of the Arts Foundation – $60,000 for the capital campaign
• Winston-Salem MIXXER – $20,000 for a community manager
• Yadkin Riverkeeper – $22,500 for a part-time diversity specialist and DEI  training
