Forsyth County Teacher Grants

Grants, in amounts of up to $2,500, are available for teachers, guidance counselors, instructional facilitators, media coordinators, and other educators in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools for various professional growth and enrichment opportunities.

Grants are awarded in support of innovative and results-oriented educational opportunities that enable educators to enhance their impact on students and enrich the subject and/or content being taught in the classroom. These projects should expand the knowledge and skills of both teachers and students.

We are most appreciative of the component funds that support our Forsyth County Teacher Grants program: the Sam and Anne Booke Family Trust, the Gaddy Educator Fund, the Doris Joyce Kohfeldt Educator Fund, the Maytrice Walton Fund, and the Blanche Raper Zimmerman Fund.

How to Apply

Forsyth County Teacher Grant applications are considered once a year in the winter; applicants will receive a decision within a two-month review period.

The application opened on December 11 and was due at 5PM on February 1. The 2024 application process has closed. The application will reopen in December.

To apply, visit the Foundation’s Grant Application Portal and register for an account. (Please register at least two weeks before the deadline so our staff has time to approve your registration.) For more info about creating an account, read our registration instructions. If you need technical assistance, please contact us at grants@wsfoundation.org and we will follow-up within 1-2 business days.

Selection and payment process: An advisory committee of professional educators will review applications and select grant recipients. Grants will be paid directly to recipients. Reporting is required at the end of the grant period.
